And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring my word like unto angels of God. Doctrine & Covenants 42:6

I Am Currently Serving In...

The Sunset Hills Ward in the Apple Valley Stake. AND I'm on bike. Woohoo! Super awesome and good times have been had so far.

Last Monday was awesome because I went around and saw all of my favorite families in Phelan and took pictures with them and stuff. It really was just a good day. Not much missionary work going on, but it was P-day, so it all works out.

Tuesday was transfers. It was weird not knowing where I was going. I was chilling with Elder Bushman, just waiting for President Godwin to read off my name to know where I was to go. Sunset Hills is cool. My companion, Elder Jackson, is also really cool. He and I get along really well. We didn't do too much that day. We just went to dinner with the Smithsons, who were cool. They've got a house that some other members are living in behind their house, and they are moving out soon. SO me and Elder Jackson are actually going to be moving in to that house at the end of November, which is way better than the stinky apartment now. Exciting.

Wednesday we just tried contacting some referrals, so really nice old women who really don't want to change. That morning Elder Jackson had a meeting because his the District Leader, so I went to some other missionaries' area for an hour. That was weird because they both just barely got transferred into the area and didn't know it at all AND one of them didn't have a bike, so we just walked a ton and didn't do anything. Kind of lame, actually. Oh yeah, I went to Walmart, too. Bought myself some Fruity Dino Bites. Stater Bros. didn't have anything at their store, just garbage cereal. I'm glad I can go to Walmart to buy stuff. Haha.
Thursday wasn't eventful either. We tried contacting old Potential Investigators, none of which were home. We tracted for an hour and got a couple of return appointments for this upcoming week. We went to dinner with this awesome family. They are the Berry Family. I have a ton in common with them, especially the dad. We are both nerds and talked about Doctor Who for an hour or so. Haha. I love them. They have 6 wild children, they kind of remind me being at a Taylor/Anderson family gathering. I love it.

Friday was good. We did some weekly planning, so this next week we will actually find people to teach and not sit around having nothing to do. We did, however, teach a part member family, which was good. One of the first things the wife told us was that she wanted to get baptized, which is always what you want to hear when you are a missionary, so at the end of the lesson we tried setting a date with her and her son, but she said that she didn't want to be pushed. That doesn't make any sense to me! She wants to get baptized, but doesn't want to know when she is going to be baptized? What? Whatever. They will get baptized sometime.

Saturday was really nice. I was on exchanges with Elder Norton, my Zone Leader, in the Ridgecrest YSA ward. Elder Norton is totally cool and we had a good time. It turns out he is a Pokemon fan, too, so we had something to talk about all day. Being a Zone Leader for a little bit was nice. We helped a companionship do their weekly planning, we had quite a few people call us for random stuff all day, and I was the largest area in the whole mission. The YSA ward cover the entire High Desert. We saw a few less active young adults, and just had a good time.

That evening, however, was the best. I went with Elder Smith and Elder Clark (Elder Smith's companion in Phelan prior to me) to Phelan for Carla and Roland's baptism. It was cool to be with a couple of cool missionaries go to my old ward. The baptism was great, I was actually able to perform the baptism for Carla. Before that we went to a recent convert's house for dinner, that was fun because me Smith and Clark all love that family. After the baptism we went over to the Best's house for a little bit. Elder Smith called them up to ask if we could go over, so she had no idea that Clark and I were going over. When Elder Smith walked in they were happy, then they saw Elder Clark and were thrilled, then they saw me and the all started jumping up and down. That was funny. It was great to know that we were their favorite missionaries, haha!

Yesterday was alright. Pretty much we were at church and nothing else happened. Ward council is usually a joke. I've noticed that here and in Phelan. Not too much actually gets done in those meeting. Church was nice. It was the Primary Program. Little kids are the best. Instead of going to Sunday School, the Primary president asked if Elder Jackson and I would teach a class, so we did. That was a nightmare. Those 11 year old children were bouncing off the walls and pretty much not paying attention. It also didn't help that we had no time to prepare the lesson. Ah well, at least we could do something to help.

That brings us to today. So far I've only been able to play Volleyball and email home. I also ate at Carl's Jr. for breakfast. That's about my day so far. Emailing home is the highlight of the day, by far. I love to get emails, wink wink. If you are reading this you should email me. If you don't have my email address here it is:
