Now Go, And Be Golden: Another Tongan Week

Word, yo.

So here's the skinny. There's still not a whole lot going on. It's not from the lack of trying, but there just aren't that many non-member Tongans within the boundaries of the Cucamonga Ward.

One interesting thing that happened is that I went to a Tongan funeral. I didn't understand a single word, but it was neat. Just randomly the people would start singing hymns. I really enjoyed that. Something cool is that they dedicate a whole week to their funerals. So even though I only went to a part of the service there were dinners and other things all week long.

Some missionary work that I did actually yielded results! There's this less active family that we have visited on splits a handful of times and on Wednesday we visited them again. I straight up committed them to come to church and they were there yesterday! It was cool to see them there. I was glad that they followed-through on their commitments.

So the really AWESOME thing that happened this week is that a recent convert from Phelan and her husband went through the temple on Saturday. They also invited all of the missionaries that helped them out to attend. So me, Elders Smith and Pettegrew, and a few others were all there. It was amazing to see quite a few of my good friends from the Phelan ward there. Being at the temple was awesome, then afterward nearly everyone there went to Cafe Rio. I sat and talked with the Chaffees for a while. I missed those people. There were also the awesome Turners there. It was one of the better days I've had in quite a while.

Unfortunately our investigators really haven't been progressing. It's been hard to meet with them and neither of them came to church yesterday. Hopefully we can change that this week.

Transfer calls are this Saturday! Maybe I'll get transferred, maybe I'll stay. Who knows? You sure will in a week from today!
