And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring my word like unto angels of God. Doctrine & Covenants 42:6

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter

I can't believe it’s been only a week since last time I emailed you folks. Time flies when you have no of it. I really love all the letters that Mom and Dad are sending me, but nobody else has been sending me anything! Sarah, Lukas and Isaac, you should know better!

Anyway, life here is just dandy. Thanks a ton for the package with everything. The watch is fantastic, and when people see it they are super jealous. The pictures all look great and I love to look at them. I hope that the reunion is going well. It’s weird that I'm not actually doing that. I wish I could spend some time with everyone. Let Brent and Ryan know that I really appreciate their letters, some of the best things I've read, next to Dad's stuff of course. I'm wondering if when I send Ryan a letter if I should send it to his house or somewhere else, so that they can actually get it.

Now on to what's been going on for me. We've been teaching a lot of "investigators" and it seems to be going just fine. My companions and I have got this teaching stuff down. We're teaching a guy who is purposely very difficult, and me and Elder Bushman are taking it like it is a challenge and having a lot of fun with it, but Elder Grill, (Grill Nye the Science Guy) has acted like we aren't doing a good job because he isn't reading and getting baptized and such. I am so sick of Elder Grill (Grilly Cheesesteak) to be perfectly honest. I'm saying this to get it off my chest, more or less. Almost everything that this guy does I can't stand. The way he talks, breaths, smells, acts and teaches all annoy me. I feel bad saying it, but I don't have anyone to really turn to say it. Elder Bushman is absolutely great to be around. Like I said last week we are very similar to each other, it’s actually pretty freaky how alike we are. We always talk about great things we did as kids and they are usually similar experiences.

I have my itinerary for leaving to the field! I'm leaving a week from today at 11:30 in the morning! I can actually get a full night of rest. Because of when P-days are I don't think you'll get any word from me for two weeks. P-days in the field are on Monday, and P-days for me here are on Tuesday, since I won't have time next week, I'm going to have to wait until the following Monday. I will, however, try to find some time to email you on Monday, because most of the day is set aside for packing and such.

I was wondering if in the next package you could send me a CD with great church music. One track I REALLY want is Fear Not, the Jordan Seminary theme song. I've been having that stuck in my head for a while and I really want to listen to it.

Since I still have 15 minutes, I guess I'm gonna keep writing. Life here really has dropped in excitement. The food hasn't been as good and I really just want to sleep a lot. Classes are pretty good, but I really don't like the role-playing parts. They just seem really awkward and rehearsed. The TRC teachings are great, though, because we don't know if they are real or not, so I go in fully prepared to knock their spiritual socks off and usually do :P. As a district we sing a lot. Everyone, other than Elder Bushman and I, have actually sung in choirs and stuff, and it usually is a lot of fun and sounds really good. Our next-door neighbors in the residence halls are a bunch of Polynesians, and they are so funny. They are always singing and laughing and being loud, but I don't mind because they are all a bunch of great guys. I really want this last week here to go by quickly. I can't wait to actually go do stuff. I'm pretty sure that I will actually start learning once I get out into the field.

Let Isaac know that I am going to write him a letter just for him. I'm going to fill it with inside jokes and awesome things that will make him happy! I also wouldn't mind it if you did send me more stamps. Quite a few people are sending me letters and I can really only hand write them one back, so I'm running out of stamps quickly, even though I will probably buy some at the MTC bookstore.

I've still got some time left, so I'm gonna tell you the awesome nicknames Elder Bushman and I have come up for Elder Grill:
  • Grill Nye the Science Guy
  • Grilly Cheesesteak
  • Grillbo Baggins
  • Cruella Di Grill
  • Sir Grilliam
  • Godzgrilla
  • Grillyweek
  • Grillsbury Doughboy
  • Innocent till Proven Grillty
I would really appreciate it if you could come up with more. We are really desperate to come up for more!
On Monday will somebody put my Mission Address up on Facebook? I really like all the attention from friends and family that I am getting, and I don't want it to stop. I'm really not sure what else to say. I've still got five whole minutes left. Hmm... Well, I've seen Jefferson Vick here, and a few kids from school, but no Carolina. There are a ton of people here. I can't wait to use a real shower, these ones here are really small and when you get in it feels like an arctic wind is being pumped into the bathroom. I've been keeping my room and stuff really clean. Not that hard when I don't have that much stuff. I miss real music and movies and stuff. It’s not like I am thinking about them all day or anything, but when a way good song pops into my head, and all I want to do is listen to it, its kinda hard. And I'm sorry Gryff has been causing you so much trouble. I miss that little smelly cat a lot and I want to help you guys out, but alas, I cannot.

You are the best family in the whole wide world and I love you guys! I miss you all and I really want to see you all day long, but I'm being a good boy and staying at the MTC :P. Two weeks, down, only 102(ish) left!
